A third-party estimate reported Sept. 30 put Meta Muse above 5 million U.S. downloads within 22 days of its introduction. Downloads measure download activity, not how many people are actively using an app or whether they continue to use it.
Muse’s reported U.S. download estimate
Meta introduced Muse on Sept. 8, 2026, and announced an initial U.S. rollout for iOS, Android and muse.ai. The estimate reported on Sept. 30 covered U.S. downloads in the first 22 days after that introduction.
The figure is a third-party estimate, not a download total announced by Meta. It also does not measure active users, retention or paid subscriptions.
Time to 5 million U.S. downloads
Historical estimates put Muse at 22 days to reach 5 million U.S. downloads. The corresponding estimates for ChatGPT, Grok and Claude were 56, 103 and 492 days.
| App | Estimated days to 5 million U.S. downloads |
| Muse | 22 |
| ChatGPT | 56 |
| Grok | 103 |
| Claude | 492 |
The figures compare historical download pace, not current audience size. The apps also launched under different conditions, so the numbers are not a like-for-like performance test.
Muse’s initial U.S. rollout
Meta described Muse as a personal AI agent and announced its initial U.S. rollout on iOS, Android and muse.ai on Sept. 8, 2026. For more on the agent’s intended role, read our earlier coverage of Meta Muse.
