I just found out. It definitely took me by surprise, and I think everyone on the Web feels the same way. The official announcement reports that Akira Toriyama left us on March 1, due to an acute subdural hematoma. He was working on several projects, and although some will surely question the one-week difference between his departure and the announcement, it's obvious that his family needed privacy.
Dragon Ball, Dr. Slump, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Blue Dragon. The master is gone, but his work will remain forever. We say goodbye with sadness, and also with gratitude.
