After reading the synopsis and watching the trailer, the first thing that comes to mind is that Altered Hours feels like a mix of Memento and A Scanner Darkly, but with a fresh mystery twist. The film weaves a linear story assembled through non-linear events in a way that keeps the audience guessing what will happen next and how Will will use the knowledge from his frequent time jumps to clear his name. Yet every glimpse of the future seems to raise more questions than answers.
Festival Success and Release
Altered Hours first premiered at a genre festival in 2016 under the title The Tomorrow Paradox, and it has been picking up awards as it travels the festival circuit, including the award for Best Picture at the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival in New York. The film stars Ryan Munzert as Will Parker, alongside Anna Shields, Brianna Ponzer, and Rick Montgomery Jr. as Jay, among others. Produced by 377 Films, Bruce Wemple directed the movie from a script he co-wrote with Mike Ladue. Altered Hours will be released on March 20, 2018 on VOD (video on demand) through distributor Gravitas Ventures.
