Andy OS is an emulator that allows you to simulate the Android experience on your computer. However, it differs from other emulators by providing full access to Google's operating system.

With the application, you can download and install apps and games (via Google Play or APK files), receive notifications, browse files, integrate the video camera and microphone, install and customize widgets, and synchronize data, among other options.

Installation and Setup

Once you download the application from its official page (the download is very slow due to the virtual machine), you'll see its interface, which is not easy to understand. To configure the environment properly, you'll have to do it manually, just like you would with a new mobile device. This complexity is because the platform uses the VirtualBox virtual machine for the connection.

Once you launch the application (in our tests it gave some errors), you'll need to create your profile and configure the emulation as if you had just bought a new device.

From your profile, you can make a backup, adjust the amount of megabytes allocated to the virtual machine, manage user creation, and create new profiles, among other options.

Usage and Features

The Android emulator works really well on your desktop computer, but we highlight its use for more advanced purposes, such as the ability to play mobile games on your PC and use your smartphone as a remote control. This option is very useful for certain types of games that require a lot of movement on the screen. Alternatively, you can use Android apps on your desktop, like WhatsApp, Snapchat, or Viber.

If you need a standard synchronization, we recommend using simpler applications like BlueStacks. However, if you want a richer experience, you can try Andy OS. In our tests of the connection between both devices via the virtual machine, we encountered some errors, but after that, the transmission was very fast and without interruptions.

Andy OS is a free application available for Windows operating systems.
