Recently we explained how to make WhatsApp stickers using nothing but your mobile device and a couple of apps. But there is also the possibility of injecting movement into our stickers, whether with our own videos or by accessing the endless amount of online GIFs. Don't let your WhatsApp chats remain static and sterile: Creating animated stickers has never been so simple. In fact, the offer of apps in the Google store can be a bit overwhelming at first, and as if that weren't enough, on more than one occasion we have run into support limits (for example, lack of compatibility in old Android versions). Fortunately, the Animated Sticker Maker app works very well, and beyond the inevitable ads between steps, its free mode offers some flexibility.
How to make animated stickers in WhatsApp
It all starts with a tap on the + button and selecting "New sticker pack". This will ask for two names (pack and author), and open a grid with a maximum of 30 stickers. When you tap one of the boxes, you select the Animated sticker function, and the app will present five options:
- Import GIF+WebP
- Import from GIPHY
- Import Video
- Take from camera
- Blank sticker
Personally, I think the simplest route is to take advantage of animated GIFs from GIPHY. Its internal search works perfectly, and it only took us a few seconds to find the desired loops. The rest is a matter of defining the final size (not all GIFs are suitable for stickers), and repeating the process until you finish the pack. The Add to WhatsApp or Update in WhatsApp button (if you add more stickers to the pack) will install the stickers in the messenger.
