Reuters reported on October 13, 2026, that Anthropic and NTT Data Group were in final-stage talks over a proposed data center in Osaka, Japan. Proposed scale and timing
The reported construction cost could reach ¥1 trillion (about $6.3 billion), while power intake capacity could reach 500 megawatts. Power-intake capacity is the amount of power a facility could draw; it is not a measurement of electricity consumed.
The report said the parties aimed to sign an agreement by the end of fiscal 2026, which ends March 31, and that partial operations could begin as early as 2028. Both dates were reported targets. NTT declined to comment, Reuters reported.
