Anthropic announced monthly Claude Platform API credits for eligible Claude Max and Team plans on October 7, 2026. Max 5x receives $100 per billing cycle, Max 20x receives $200, and Team seat credits go into a shared organizational pool capped at $500 per month. These credits pay for eligible API and agent use, not interactive Claude Code sessions.

Team’s seat credits combine into one organizational balance. The amount depends on the seats on the plan when credits are deposited, and the pool is capped at $500 per month. For example, three Standard seats and two Premium seats add up to $260 per cycle: 3 × $20 + 2 × $100.
What the credits cover
The balance applies to Claude API Messages and Message Batches, the Console Playground, Claude Managed Agents, and the Claude Agent SDK, using available Claude Platform models. It also applies to the Agent SDK and claude -p when they run directly with an API key from the linked Claude Console organization. An API key is a credential that authenticates a request to the platform.
Interactive Claude Code sessions do not qualify. That includes launches through the Claude Code GitHub Action, IDE extensions, or desktop app. If the Agent SDK or claude -p instead uses a Claude subscription login, its usage counts against the subscription’s limits. Extra usage in Claude, Claude Code, or Cowork is also excluded, as are Claude models served through Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry.
How to claim and use the balance
Max and Team plans must be active and in good standing. After seven days on an eligible plan, claim the credit through Claude.ai in a web browser by linking one Claude Console organization. Team claims must be made by a Primary Owner or Owner; the linked Console user must have Owner, Admin, or Billing permissions. Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans are ineligible. Specified discounted Team plans for nonprofits and scientists are eligible.
The credits refresh each billing cycle, including monthly for annual subscriptions. Unused amounts expire at the end of the cycle and do not roll over. The included credit is used before purchased credits, and API keys in the linked organization share the balance.
If the included credit and any purchased or auto-reload balance run out, API requests stop until the next grant or another balance is available. The usage does not transfer to the Claude subscription. Organizations billed through Anthropic Sales continue to be billed as usual for usage beyond the included credit.
