A NeoTeo report published October 25 said an SEC EDGAR search on October 24 returned no matching public Anthropic S-1. Anthropic had announced on June 1 that it confidentially submitted a draft Form S-1, the registration statement used in a U.S. IPO. That confidential submission was a separate step from making the registration statement public.
The reported filing and IPO schedule
A report published October 21 said Anthropic could make its S-1 public as soon as October 23. IFR later reported a planned public filing for October 26, an investor roadshow during the week of November 9, and a target IPO in mid-November. Those dates were reported plans.
IFR also reported a possible $2 trillion valuation and a potential raise of up to $100 billion. The $2 trillion figure is a reported target, not a final offering valuation. NeoTeo previously examined the proposed valuation in its earlier coverage of Anthropic’s $2 trillion IPO figure.
What the reported financials say
Yahoo Finance reported first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion and a net loss of $80.7 billion. A Benzinga report carried by Yahoo Finance attributed $72 billion of that loss to accounting charges tied to changes in the value of convertible notes and other fundraising instruments.
IFR reported $16.8 billion in third-quarter revenue, up 45% from the $11.6 billion it reported for the second quarter. Anthropic reportedly told investors it was profitable on an adjusted basis in the third quarter. That adjusted measure is distinct from the reported first-half net loss.
Bloomberg Television discussed Wall Street Journal reporting that about one-fifth of Anthropic’s roughly $16 billion in first-half revenue came from two customers.
The draft’s reported AI-risk warning
Reuters reported that Anthropic’s confidential draft warned that advanced AI could pose “catastrophic or existential risks to humanity.” The warning was reported as language in the draft, not as a description of an incident involving a deployed Anthropic model.
Mark Levine’s request to Anthropic
IFR reported that New York City Comptroller Mark Levine wrote to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei asking the company to pause its IPO until it addressed concerns about AI safety, governance, and the pace of development.
