A poll reported on Oct. 8 captured a sparse response to hypothetical Anthropic IPO valuations at a Wednesday-night event in San Francisco: three attendees raised their hands at $3 trillion, and a few more at $1.5 trillion. The count is a room-level reaction, not a measure of market-wide demand.

Three hands at a hypothetical $3 trillion valuation

At Tech Insider: Growth Mode, attendees were asked whether they would buy Anthropic shares at the hypothetical valuations. Three raised their hands at $3 trillion; a few more did so at $1.5 trillion.

The hand count has no audience denominator or representative sampling frame. It cannot show what share of attendees—or investors more broadly—would buy.

Market capacity is a separate question

Interview on public-market capacity for large technology IPOs and the SpaceX precedent.

Views at the event differed. A lawyer described a wait-and-see mood and concern that public-investor capital could be limited until major AI offerings were completed. A listing executive said capital remained available, while investors were emphasizing growth alongside cash efficiency and discipline.

A banking executive separately argued that public markets could absorb large technology IPOs, citing SpaceX as a precedent. That view concerns overall market capacity, not demand for Anthropic shares.

Anthropic’s possible IPO timing

A possible Anthropic offering before year-end was described as an expectation. For earlier background on the possible listing, see NeoTeo’s previous coverage.
