Anthropic announced Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion on October 8, 2026, and said both were starting in beta that day. Dashboards turns plain-language questions about connected company data into dashboards; Motion creates editable, code-based animations. Anthropic’s announcement names different access terms for the two tools.
| Feature | What it does | How it works | Beta access stated by Anthropic |
| Claude Dashboards | Creates dashboards from questions about connected company data | Connects to company data; users can inspect the query behind a number and see each chart’s last refresh | Paid plans |
| Claude Motion | Creates animated explainers | Animates text, charts, shapes, and images with code; users can edit the result and download an MP4 | Team and Enterprise plans |
Claude Dashboards turns data questions into dashboards
With Claude Dashboards, a user can ask a question in plain language and have Claude create a dashboard from connected company data. Anthropic describes it as a tool for quick, exploratory analysis. The company names Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, and Snowflake as data-platform connections, and Salesforce as a CRM connection.
Dashboards also offers ways to inspect the figures: users can open the query behind a number or ask Claude to explain it, and each chart displays when its data was last refreshed. Anthropic names Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, and Sigma as destinations for sending dashboards. It lists Looker, monday.com, and Tableau as coming soon.
Claude Motion makes editable animations with code
Claude Motion takes a different route: it animates text, charts, shapes, and images using code rather than a video-generation model. Anthropic says it does not generate footage or AI-generated people. Users can change words, numbers, and timing in the editor or ask Claude to make changes, then download the animation as an MP4.
For handoff, Anthropic names Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, and Runway as destinations. Canva and Captions are listed as coming soon.
Who can use the beta features
Anthropic said Claude Dashboards was in beta on paid plans and Claude Motion on Team and Enterprise plans. The announcement did not narrow Dashboards access to particular paid tiers. For Enterprise organizations, both features are off by default; administrators can enable them under Organization settings > Artifacts.
A bike-share example connects the two workflows
Anthropic’s demonstration follows a bike-share scenario from warehouse data to a dashboard and then an animated explainer. It also shows the animation being revised with comments, shared with colleagues for comments, and exported to design tools.
The same October 8 announcement said Claude Docs, Claude Slides, and Claude Design had left beta and were available on every plan, including Free.
