November 2 amendment adds third-quarter results

The amendment gives investors a newer financial snapshot of Anthropic as it pursues a proposed public offering. Revenue for the three months ended September 30 was $16.962 billion; revenue for the full nine-month period was $33.242 billion, according to CNBC and Reuters’ reports on the filing.

Revenue growth stayed high as sequential growth slowed

Anthropic’s reported Q3 revenue was up 1,127% from the same quarter a year earlier. Quarter over quarter, growth was about 47%, down from 144% in Q2, Reuters reported. Those comparisons use different baselines: the year-over-year figure compares Q3 with Q3 a year earlier, while the sequential figure compares Q3 with Q2.

Reporting periodRevenueYear-over-year growth
Three months ended September 30, 2026$16.962 billion1,127%
Nine months ended September 30, 2026$33.242 billion1,206%

Net loss and operating loss describe different results

Bloomberg Podcasts hosts Paul Sweeney and Mandeep Singh discuss Anthropic’s reported Q3 revenue, computing costs and proposed IPO.

Anthropic reported a $104 billion net loss for the nine months ended September 30, including $94.3 billion in fair-value changes on convertible notes, derivative liabilities and SAFEs, CNBC reported. For Q3, the reported net loss was $23.29 billion, including $21.9 billion in noncash fair-value losses. The quarter’s operating loss was $567 million. Net loss includes accounting changes in the value of financial instruments; it is not the same measure as operating loss or cash spent on operations.

Compute commitments span several time horizons

CNBC and Reuters reported that the amendment disclosed about $895.4 billion in aggregate committed spend under purchase commitments and leases, substantially all related to compute and infrastructure. The reported schedule includes amounts expected in different time windows:

Commitment measureReported amountTiming
Aggregate committed spendApproximately $895.4 billionPurchase commitments and leases; substantially all for compute and infrastructure
Amount expected before December 31, 2030Approximately $447.5 billionBefore the end of 2030
Amount in the following 12 monthsApproximately $69.8 billionThe 12 months after September 30, 2026

The timing figures describe portions of the aggregate commitment schedule, not additional amounts to add to its total.

Anthropic’s proposed listing

Anthropic’s October 26 announcement described a proposed Class A common stock offering on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the intended ticker ANT. Anthropic’s announcement presents the offering as a proposal, not a completed listing. For background on earlier valuation expectations, see NeoTeo’s previous coverage of Anthropic’s proposed IPO.
