Facebook has implemented some mechanisms to limit access and browsing of Instagram among users who don't have an account, more specifically, a pop-up after scrolling or when trying to view a post. The goal is obvious: to make users full members of the social network. However, that pop-up can be easily removed. Lucas Velázquez created a simple script called Antiblock Instagram that removes it with a single click.
Instagram comfortably surpasses the mark of one billion users, and a large part of the activity on the Web goes through its platform. But we are all aware that Facebook wants more. That means there is a gigantic number of people exploring that social network daily, and for different reasons they do not have an account. Instagram responded to that activity with a mandatory pop-up: after scrolling to a certain point, the visitor is invited to log in with their account, or create a new one.
How to remove Instagram's login pop-up
That pop-up is not particularly complex. In fact, if someone inspects the page with the pop-up and modifies the correct code, the restriction disappears. Developer Lucas Velázquez decided to simplify the process with a small script called Antiblock Instagram. To activate it, go to the GitHub page, click on the file app.js, create a new bookmark, edit it, and copy as URL the content of app.js. We haven't noticed anything strange in the script, and it only focuses on removing the necessary elements.
Once the pop-up appears, we click on the edited bookmark… and that's it. Now, the script works while browsing, but when you click on a post, the site doesn't record it. The solution is as simple as right-clicking on the photo and opening the link in a new tab. Still, nothing seems to work correctly with the "Stories". If you have a trick for them, leave a comment!
