Apple reportedly agreed to offer jobs to certain Huxe AI employees and take a non-exclusive license to Huxe’s intellectual property, according to TechCrunch’s account of Apple’s notification to the European Commission. The reported terms describe employment offers and a license, not an outright purchase of Huxe. A non-exclusive license does not give Apple sole rights to the intellectual property.

TechCrunch reported that Apple notified the European Commission on June 9, 2026. It identified MacRumors as the first outlet to report the agreement on October 9; TechCrunch published its account on October 10.

Huxe’s audio product and shutdown

Huxe made personalized audio, including AI-generated podcast-style content. TechCrunch reported that its founders had previously worked on AI-generated podcast features for Google’s NotebookLM.

Huxe announced its shutdown on May 21, 2026. The company said it would stop developing the product and thanked users for their suggestions and support. TechCrunch reported that Huxe planned to remove its app from Apple’s and Google’s app stores, stop the service, and delete user data.
