Apple’s iOS 27 rollout: How iCloud+ connects to Apple Intelligence

Apple began rolling out iOS 27 on September 14, 2026. Separately, Apple’s June 8 announcement said most iCloud+ plans would provide increased access to some daily-limited Apple Intelligence features that rely on servers. The announcement did not identify the qualifying plans or give numerical daily quotas.

iOS 27 and iCloud+ AI access

Apple says some server-dependent Apple Intelligence features have daily usage limits. On September 10, its support information also said expanded access to server-dependent features would be available for a fee in the future.

The features Apple identifies as server-dependent include Siri AI, Clean Up, Extend, Spatial Reframing and Image Playground, as well as certain models in Shortcuts and apps using Apple Foundation Models in Private Cloud Compute. Daily limits can vary with the feature, the complexity of a request, system demand and other factors.

Camera summaries and recording have different limits

Apple’s Spanish support information lists separate caps for Apple Intelligence camera summaries and HomeKit Secure Video recording. The summary limit applies to how many cameras can receive summaries; the recording allowance covers how many cameras can record video.

That leaves a clear distinction for a multi-camera home: on these Spanish plan tiers, recording can cover unlimited cameras, while summaries are capped at one, two or five, depending on the tier. Apple also says compatible camera activity is analyzed in the home hub, encrypted and uploaded to iCloud; recordings do not count against the general iCloud storage quota.
