Apple announced a Siri AI developer preview on November 3, 2026, giving developers a way to bring app content and custom actions into Siri through App Intents. The preview also includes a way to surface entities from Spotlight’s semantic index, extending the focus beyond individual commands. Apple’s announcement describes a developer preview, separate from the broader Siri AI beta discussed in NeoTeo’s earlier coverage of Siri AI’s app actions and web limits.

What App Intents add to Siri AI

App Intents let an app expose its content and actions to Siri AI. Apple’s examples include checking a delivery, booking a reservation and placing an order. For more complex requests, Apple says developers can use skills to combine several actions into one experience.

Apple also says Siri AI can surface any entity in the Spotlight semantic index, not just entities that fit an existing schema. That gives app developers another way to make indexed content discoverable through Siri, beyond defining individual actions. The announcement does not say that every existing App Intent becomes available automatically.

For developers, keep the two roles distinct: App Intents expose app content and actions, while skills can combine actions for a more complex request.

The developer preview names four beta platforms

Apple’s developer-preview list and its general Siri AI beta list cover different systems. The developer preview is tied to four operating-system betas; Apple’s broader beta list adds watchOS 27.3.

ScopeSystems Apple named
App Intents developer previewiOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, visionOS 27.3
General Siri AI betaiOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, watchOS 27.3, visionOS 27.3

For app developers, watchOS 27.3’s presence in the general beta list does not place it in the App Intents developer-preview list.

Access, timing and usage limits

Apple says the Siri AI beta requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled device set to a supported language. The languages it lists are English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. Some features may vary by region or language, and Siri AI is unavailable to users under 13.

Apple forecast that the first customer availability would follow in a few months and that App Store submissions would open in spring. The company also says certain server-side model features, including Siri AI, have daily usage limits. Expanded access to those features will be available for a fee in the future; Apple says limits can vary with the feature, request complexity, system demand and other factors.
