Arianespace plans to launch 36 Amazon Leo satellites on mission VA271 no earlier than Nov. 23 from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana. Arianespace’s announcement Amazon’s mission tracker identifies the same flight as LE-04 and gives the target date as Nov. 23, 2026. Amazon’s mission tracker Arianespace says the final launch window will be set closer to the mission.

The Ariane 64 configuration

Amazon Leo’s LE-02 recap shows an earlier Ariane 6 launch and satellite deployment; that mission carried 32 satellites.

Arianespace plans to use Ariane 6 in its Ariane 64 configuration, with four P160C solid-propellant boosters carrying the 36-satellite payload. VA271 is Arianespace’s mission designation; LE-04, short for Leo Europe 4, is Amazon’s name for the flight.

Preparations are underway in French Guiana

Arianespace said on Oct. 14, 2026, that the launch campaign was underway at the Guiana Space Centre, with the satellites and launcher components being prepared and integrated. The company estimates about two hours and four minutes from liftoff to deployment of the final satellite.

The flight would be Ariane 6’s 10th, Ariane 64’s fourth, and the second Ariane 64 mission to use P160C boosters, according to Arianespace. The planned launch is part of a 24-launch agreement between Arianespace and Amazon; Arianespace said Amazon announced six additional Ariane 64 launches in September 2026.

If deployment succeeds, Arianespace says its total of Amazon Leo satellites deployed would reach 136. Arianespace’s mission announcement
