After a film, an extraordinary case of counterprogramming, and a billion dollars later, the Barbie doll is more alive than ever. As expected, the artificial intelligence services celebrating Mattel's heroine didn't take long to appear. The craze began with Dollme a few days ago, and now continues through Bairbie.Me, which works in a very similar way: upload a photo, choose a scene, and let the algorithm do the rest.
1,031 million dollars and counting. Personally, I didn't think the public was so eager to see the live-action version of a doll going through an existential crisis... but it's hard to argue when the numbers speak that way. I imagine Mattel and Warner Bros. are already plotting the route to a sequel (repeating something similar to the nuclear-pink effervescence of Barbenheimer if possible), however... first they have to resolve a couple of strikes.
Until that happens, artificial intelligence must fill the void in the form of sites, services and apps that will transform us into Barbies and Kens. Today it's the turn of Bairbie.Me which has gained some viral profile in recent days. The free version limits the number of generations to five every ten hours, but it's more than enough to laugh at our barbification.
Become Barbie and Ken with Bairbie.Me
Besides uploading a photo as reference, we have five parameters available for the generation: 'Barbie or Ken', hair color, skin color, ethnicity, and scene (at the bottom of the page). It's also necessary to share an email address, where the site will send a copy with the link to the generated image. Its download is free, but the free mode injects a huge watermark on it. The scenes are reduced to Beach and Fancy, although Bairbie.Me indicates that there will be more in the future.
As for the results, Bairbie.Me is much more 'plastic' compared to Dollme (but it was hard to contain the laughter in the middle of the night). And if you're worried about privacy, you should know that Bairbie.Me will use the generated images to continue training its models... at least until Mattel starts launching nuclear missiles in all directions.
