Base44 says a user connects a GitHub repository, then an AI agent analyzes the codebase and prepares a cloud environment. The company says the agent can configure databases and infrastructure, add sample data and provide a live application preview.
Teammates can describe a requested code change in chat and review the result in that preview. Base44 describes this as a shared workspace for product and engineering teams, rather than a tool limited to a developer’s local setup.
Pull requests keep engineers in the review loop
Base44 says proposed changes are submitted as pull requests, or PRs: requests to merge code changes into a project after review. The organization’s existing review and release workflows remain part of the process, so the announced model gives teammates a way to propose edits without removing engineering review.
Designed for collaboration across teams
The intended users include product managers, designers, quality-assurance teams, operations, marketing and engineers. Base44 says projects can be accessed in a browser or on a mobile device without installing software or configuring a local development environment. The company also says users can choose among multiple AI models.
Workspace owners and administrators can restrict repository imports to approved GitHub organizations, according to Base44. The company says secrets are encrypted, can be shared across branches and are not committed to the repository.
