Based on Kentaro Miura's manga of the same name, Berserk marks Guts' return to video games with Dynasty Warriors-like gameplay and bloody battles in an epic dark fantasy world.
Story and Gameplay
The Berserk game is based on the popular manga of the same name by Kentaro Miura. For those unfamiliar with it, the story is set in a medieval era inspired by ancient Europe. The protagonist is Guts, a lone mercenary who hunts demons called Apostles. The success of the manga spawned an anime series, films, and video games, much to the delight of fans. This time, Berserk is a new game in development that follows the manga's story, beginning with the Golden Age arc (the most famous saga of all) and ending with the Millennium Falcon arc.
These arcs span from Guts' life as a mercenary, constantly traveling and switching armies, until he finally joins the Band of the Hawk, led by Griffith, as well as his encounter with the witch Flora, from whom he receives the counterproductive Berserker armor. The game is developed by Omega Force with collaboration from Koei Tecmo (Dynasty Warriors). This is no coincidence, as Berserk adapts the gameplay of the latest installment in the Warriors series, plunging you into an intense and frenetic world with bloody battles in the best hack-and-slash style.
Release and Platforms
The game will feature the most popular characters from the manga, as well as the participation of the same voice actors to faithfully recreate them, just as they did in both the anime and the films. Berserk (working title, Berserk Musō in Japan) is being developed by Omega Force and will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Windows starting September 21, 2016, in the Land of the Rising Sun. For now, the game does not have a concrete release date for the rest of the world.
