Block Site is a browser extension that lets you restrict access to a web page. You can do it from a button in your browser’s toolbar. Its use is very simple: you simply have to go to the website you want to block and set a password. From that moment on, any user who tries to enter that web page from your browser will see a lock screen.
The extension goes further, because from its options you can also redirect a “Host” name to a specific URL. Block Site extracts the arguments from the entered server and passes them to the destination URL. That’s why this function is ideal for redirecting Google.com search results to Bing.com, for example.
How to Set a Master Password for Restricted Websites
First, go to the URL of the web page, head to Block Site’s options and set the password. From then on, when a user tries to go to a restricted page, they won’t be able to see it unless they have the password. You can also determine a time interval for browsing the blocked page (by default, one minute).
How to Redirect a URL with Block Site
From the options, you have to add a “Host” name from which you want to redirect. For example: `*.google.com`. Then you’ll need to add the full URL (http://www.bing.com) of the destination domain in the redirect box. Then, just click save. And done! From that moment, when you perform a search in the browser’s address bar, you’ll get Bing results.
