But today we have something more modern, and why not, simple. It is known as «Construye una Central Nuclear», and it's made by Atomenergomash, the nuclear division of Rosatom. The first step is to know the most important parts of a plant, and the second, to build it as fast as you can.
We know the technical details that led to the explosion. We also know the efforts made to contain the disaster. But beyond Chernobyl, its series, and its tourist guides, the truth is that a nuclear power plant is always safe with stable construction, proper maintenance, and a professional team in charge. The general public still has a lot to learn about them, and one of the best ways to communicate that knowledge is through a video game.
Nuclear supervisor Alfredo García, better known as 'Operador Nuclear' on Twitter, recently shared an online game called «Construye una Central Nuclear», published by Atomenergomash. The design of the nuclear plant is divided into eight general parts: the nuclear reactor, the emergency core cooling system, the main and secondary circulation pumps, the steam separator, the turbine, and the generator connected to it.
The Mission
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to place all the parts in the correct place. You are not obligated to follow a specific order, but you must be as fast as you can. That's the idea behind the game: build a nuclear station in a matter of seconds, and share the result with your friends to see who is faster. The 'Easy' mode includes shadows of the pieces to recognize their correct position, but in 'Hard' mode you basically play blind.
