You can check your iPhone’s Apple Intelligence allocation and try the Siri-language change GSMArena reported. In one test, the allocation fell from about 15 GB to around 100 MB after Siri was set to English (South Africa) and the iPhone restarted. That is a single reported result, not a guaranteed outcome for every device.

Check Apple Intelligence storage on your iPhone

GSMArena reported user observations ranging from 9 GB to 16 GB after the iOS 27 update. To see the allocation on your own phone, open Settings > General > iPhone Storage > iOS.

The amount shown on your iPhone is the useful starting point. The reported 9–16 GB range describes user observations, not a standard amount for every device.

Try the reported Siri-language change

GSMArena’s test started at about 15 GB. Its reported sequence was to change Siri’s language to English (South Africa) and restart the iPhone; afterward, the allocation was around 100 MB.

  1. In Settings, open Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  2. Open Siri’s language setting and select English (South Africa).
  3. Restart your iPhone.
  4. Return to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > iOS and check the Apple Intelligence allocation again.

GSMArena also reported that simply turning off Apple Intelligence or Siri did not appear to return the storage in the cases described.

Check the language requirement for Siri AI beta

Apple says both the device language and Siri language must be supported languages to try Siri AI beta, where available. If you use the beta, changing Siri’s language may affect whether your language settings meet that condition. Apple’s Siri AI requirements explain the requirement; they do not promise a storage reduction.
