Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy, rest, gifts, and plenty of food, but in the particular universe of horror movies, the rules are very different. Christmas is the day of serial killers, hungry monsters, evil spirits, and victims who, besides screaming and running, must give their blood in the name of entertainment. The film posters seek to reflect that idea, and in some cases, they do it wonderfully.
It is very difficult to sell a horror movie these days. Fans of the genre are extremely demanding, and there are many projects out there that never quite escaped the temptation to repeat previous concepts. That becomes even more evident when movies are based on a specific celebration, like Halloween or Christmas. But if there is a way to stand out from the rest, it is through the posters.
