Bad news: Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed to September 17. This five-month correction doesn't surprise us given its long development, but the action in Night City is taking too long to arrive. In the meantime, we humbly suggest looking for real-world cyberpunk examples, and CD Projekt RED decided to celebrate the best in a spectacular photo contest that gave away thousands of dollars in prizes, along with Nvidia hardware, special editions of the game, Adobe licenses, and other collectibles.
Like so many subgenres, cyberpunk is subject to interpretation. Some build it with their own hands, others rely on photo retouching to bring it to light, and then there are those who find it in the least expected places. Either way, it's always worth celebrating, and to fuel the hype for Cyberpunk 2077 in the process, CD Projekt RED organized the photo contest "Cyberpunk Is Closer Than You Think."
More than a thousand participants submitted their work, and earlier this week, CD Projekt announced the winners. The first place took a hefty $4,000, a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, a collector's edition of Cyberpunk 2077, a jacket, a bag, and an Adobe license, while the second received $2,000, another collector's copy of the game, a GeForce RTX 2080 Super, an Adobe license, and a bag.
