The benefits of DD-WRT are enormous, and as a user of this firmware for several years, I can vouch for its virtues. Of course, I must also admit its great weakness: the installation process. This aspect has improved a lot over time, but it still requires some effort from the user. Each specific model of compatible router has its own tutorial, and most of them are in English, so you have to tread carefully.
