Anyone who scours the web for special cake designs will come across consoles, video games, movie scenes, football logos, McDonald's burgers (no joke), books, phones, all kinds of animals, and more. But what happens when you want to satisfy the occasional macabre impulse? The team at Deviant Desserts has plenty of resources with its fascinating desserts based on corpses, body parts, giant insects, and horrible faces of famous people. Needless to say, the content is NSFW to Mars and back.
Now… why? Why would anyone order a cake or dessert that looks like it came straight out of a horror movie? The Ufunk portal hits the nail on the head by pointing out that it's all a mix of satire, bad taste and black humor, something we've seen plenty of in other formats. From the famous video nasties to a wide range of video games, it's not that strange that we're drawn to this kind of "content". The fact that it ends up on a plate to be devoured one piece at a time is just another possibility, and it would be crazy to deny the extraordinary skill of Katherine Dey, founder of Deviant Desserts. Her attention to detail is impressive, and I think she'd have no problem leaving baking behind to enter the world of special effects if she wanted.
