If there was something we were eagerly waiting for, it was Bethesda's conference at E3 2015. The reasons? Well, besides Fallout 4, we wanted to see another game in action. Yes, we're talking about the beast. The classic Doom returns to its origins and looks better than ever.
A month ago, Bethesda Softworks released a brief teaser of Doom as a promotion for the current E3 2015. Finally, the day arrived, and during Bethesda's conference we got to see the game in motion. The action takes place again on Mars, where the UAC Corporation has discovered artificial symbols on the planet that end up releasing an army of demons from hell. To everyone's surprise, Doom will not only feature a single-player mode but will also include a multiplayer mode with the traditional Deathmatch for four players, Domination, Freeze Tag, and Clan Arena.
Gameplay and Features
Doom's gameplay returns to its origins with fast and frantic action, where you'll have to face hordes of demons of all sizes. To carry out such a task, there's a vast arsenal to eradicate the threat, including several executions to finish the job quickly and in the most brutal way. Doom brings back some elements that characterized previous games, such as old enemies like Revenant, Cyberdemon, and Pinky. Many classic weapons, like the double-barreled shotgun and the powerful BFG-9000, also make an appearance. Among the new features is SnapMap, a tool that lets you build your own maps and share them with the online community. Graphically, the game looks incredible, thanks to the fact that it uses version 6 of the idTech engine. Doom is being developed by id Software and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. There's no specific release date yet, but it's expected to arrive during the spring of 2016.
