Mobile devices are increasingly offering us games with closer interaction between people. We already saw it with the dance game Bouden, and now it's the turn of this space shooter called Dual. Discover how to play this new wonder.
Dual is an action game of spaceships with close interaction between two people. Each player must have a mobile device in hand, standing facing each other so that both phones are together, getting a complete view of the game while they shoot at each other, trying to destroy each other and dodging bullets with tactical maneuvers to achieve victory. The developer of this wonder is Sebastian Gosztyla, who explains that Dual came from the idea of an experimental gameplay that would take advantage of the unique characteristics of mobile devices. From the beginning, there was a strong focus on creating something that could use mobile devices to foster physical interaction between people.
What the Developer Says
"It is required that people be aware of both screens in order to get a complete view of the entire game. This makes the players' bodies become part of the experience. They realize their proximity and the movements between them and create rules about how to play. I have seen people hide screens, use their height as an advantage, or simply turn around and ignore the other screen", says Gosztyla when explaining the different rules and tactics players can implement in Dual.
How to Play and Availability
Dual's gameplay requires two players present in the same place, whether to face each other or play cooperatively, competing for the top spot on the leaderboard. So you know, call your friend, tell them to install the game on their phone, and connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. And don't worry if you have an Android and your friend has an iOS device, because Dual offers cross-platform play via Wi-Fi. Developed by Sebastian Gosztyla, Dual is available for free on iOS and Android.
