The Auteursbond, a Dutch writers’ organization, published the schedule. Stichting Lira, a writers’ rights foundation, and NVJ, the Dutch Association of Journalists, joined the campaign.
What the organizations are seeking
The organizations called for fair compensation, control over creators’ work and transparency from technology companies. They allege that copyrighted writing was copied and circulated through shadow libraries—online collections they describe as containing unauthorized copies—and then used to train AI models.
A collective legal procedure was being prepared
The organizations said a formal demand letter to Meta had not opened the way to negotiations. They also said they were preparing a collective legal procedure against the company.
