Waking up and facing a mountain of unread emails can be a daunting start to the day. Rather than resigning yourself to a morning of tedious typing, you can turn to a tool that accelerates your responses. EasyEmail is a Gmail extension that offers predefined suggestions and autocomplete.
As you write emails after installing the utility and manually adding your “canned responses”, you'll be able to compose long messages in the blink of an eye. When you first install EasyEmail, it doesn't have any database or preloaded suggestions or replies. Don't worry – you can gradually add your frequently used phrases to EasyEmail.
Adding your own suggestions
Once you've added the add-on to your Gmail account, you'll see the platform's icon in the top right corner. From there you can manually add custom suggestions. To do this, click on “Settings” and then on the “Add More Suggestions” button. A dialog box will open where you can type any suggestion in any language or dialect. Finally, click on “Sentence”.
Creating canned responses
But the platform doesn't stop there. You can also create “canned responses” by clicking “Add More Suggestions” again and selecting the “Hotkeys” tab. You'll see two fields: Name and Text. In the Name field, add the abbreviation you want, and in the Text field, enter the “canned response”. Save the shortcut... and you're done!
Using your shortcuts
To use the suggestions in the body of an email, simply type “:” (just the colon) followed by the abbreviation. As soon as you do, the “canned response” will appear, and with a single click, you insert it into the message. This manual insertion of responses is one of EasyEmail's most interesting features. Once your responses are set up, you can write a message in just a few seconds. With this platform, you'll save hours of typing, and over time, you'll likely avoid developing tendinitis.
