Patrick Schoenmaker is an artist and fan of the Indiana Jones films. Such is his passion that over the past five years he has been working on an excellent animated short titled The Adventures of Indiana Jones.
Indiana Jones, the mythical character created by George Lucas, shot to fame in 1981 with the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark. This success opened the way for new films, a television series, and even several video games, among other media. However, there was never an animated version of this famous archaeologist... until now. Patrick Schoenmaker is an artist and faithful fan of the Indiana Jones films, who has been working for the last five years on an excellent animated short titled The Adventures of Indiana Jones.
Patrick explains that he has made the short as if it were the opening sequence of an animated series. To that end, he went to great lengths to recreate several classic Indiana Jones scenes, but not from any particular film or story. For example, there is a scene in a collapsing temple where Indy escapes and then swings across a lake with crocodiles, but it is not from Raiders of the Lost Ark as many would think. There is another where we see him face a Nazi on the back of a tank, but it is not from The Last Crusade. Most of the scenes in The Adventures of Indiana Jones were animated in TVPaint and composed in After Effects. On Patrick's official site, you can see a gallery with all the concept art used for the short, which hopefully can become an animated series for the delight of fans of the old and dear Doctor Jones.
