With every evolutionary leap in image generation models, the demand for VRAM grows. But we also need powerful hardware to ensure that results don't take an eternity. The alternative is to use an online environment, which brings us to FastFlux.ai, a service that behaves quite differently from the rest. Instead of prioritizing advanced parameters or running multiple models, this site focuses on the "Schnell" version of FLUX.1 and optimizes it to generate images in less than a second.

One of the first things I had to learn with Stable Diffusion and platforms like Auto1111 was balancing VRAM consumption so the model would "fit" and not throw errors. While there are resources that enable the use of conventional RAM, the performance loss can be enormous. As someone who has waited more than ten minutes to generate an image, the idea is not only to get many batch results... but to get them fast.

With a lack of hardware and/or VRAM, the best path is to run models online. Each platform offers different types of presets and advanced parameters, but that's not the case with FastFlux.ai. Its priority is speed, to such an extent that it can present images in less than a second.

With the first models, it was necessary to wait several minutes. This image took less than a second. (Downloads are in WEBP format)

As I mentioned above, there are no advanced parameters here: all you can see is a box to enter your prompt and the Run button, nothing else. Its developers stated on Reddit a couple of days ago that they aim to maintain consistent image generation below one second, with records of just 300 milliseconds in some cases.

Glass reflections are certainly a problem for this model, but its generation was almost immediate

This speed is possible thanks to FLUX.1 Schnell, the smallest model in the FLUX.1 family that Black Forest Labs shared at the beginning of August. Now, the creators of FastFlux.ai say they have not sacrificed quality, but there are some compromises in terms of precision. The prompt often ignores certain details, and injects others when they weren't requested in the first place (for example, earrings and accessories for all women), but considering that the image is generated in less than a second, it doesn't stop being impressive.

Horrible knuckles... but at least there are no eight fingers on each hand

The ring fingers are longer than the middle ones. On the other hand, the page is receiving a chilling number of requests.

For now, FastFlux.ai is free, and we know what that means. The site is being bombarded with requests, and I imagine they will look to implement some limits soon. Link below!
