Breathe, just breathe Luke Skywalker’s voice says in the opening seconds of the new trailer. The Force is with us once more. When anticipation gets the better of us, a new preview arrives to soothe our nerves. The saga created by George Lucas and LucasFilm, now under Disney, is heading to theaters with a film fans have been eagerly waiting for.
After the success of Episode VII: The Force Awakens and Rogue One (one of the saga's spin-offs, though not the first), the first images from The Last Jedi have emerged, and there is plenty to analyze. A new planet in the official canon, ships emitting a strange red dust, Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) shattered mask, Finn (John Boyega) unconscious in some kind of hospital, the appearance of Leia, and Rey (Daisy Ridley) in the middle of training with the saga’s most important Jedi, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). And then there’s the line: “It’s time for the Jedi to end,” which has raised questions about Luke’s stance in this installment.

The official poster was also revealed, and it immediately calls back to the poster for Episode IV: A New Hope (1977), with Rey taking Luke’s place while Luke and Kylo fill in for Darth Vader. Another detail is the lightsaber changing from blue to red, and the red tint of the image, giving this second part a darker tone than its predecessor.
Star Wars Celebration Brings More News
These releases were announced at “Star Wars Celebration,” the official convention of the franchise, held April 14–16. There’s still much to anticipate today and tomorrow, as some kind of preview for the fourth season of Rebels is expected, along with the announced trailer for “Battlefront 2,” the sequel to the excellent game released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, scheduled for today.

The emotional moment came with a tribute video to Carrie Fisher, who, as Princess Leia, made us grow fond of her character. Combative and brave, we’ll see her for the last time, as she managed to film all of Episode VIII. The big question will come with the resolution of her character in Episode IX.
Star Wars is one of the most iconic science fiction sagas, and every time something new appears, it shakes the entire planet. The wait will last until the end of the year with The Last Jedi.
