Four Ways Iron Man Could Kill Thanos

April 26, ladies and gentlemen. That day, more than ten years of movies will collide in a new conflict that will surely change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. Now, we all imagine that the damage caused by Thanos will be reversed (somehow), and the the existence of Far From Home is good proof of that; however, the Mad Titan has a more personal and intimate appointment with the infinite in store. Many hypotheses out there insist that it will be Iron Man who finishes off Thanos once and for all, but the question is... how? A short video published by Looper explores four possibilities.

Warning: Planetary-scale spoilers

Unless you live in a pterodactyl egg or have no interest in Marvel movies, you probably already know that Thanos snapped his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet and half the universe went “poof!”. The defeat of the Avengers and their allies was decisive, but we’ve learned from that impactful event: Thanos is not invulnerable. Yes, Thor should have aimed a little higher with Stormbreaker... and that would have left us without the rest of Phase Three, right? So the Marvel team has two goals: undo Thanos’s universal genocide and separate his huge head from his body. Thor wielding Stormbreaker looks like the most logical candidate, but the Web is betting on a more "human" solution: Iron Man. What ways could Tony Stark annihilate Thanos? The folks at Looper mention four:

• Using the Infinity Gauntlet: The first option seems the simplest. Repairing the gauntlet (or making a new one) and turning all the power of the stones against Thanos would be more than enough to finish off the Mad Titan. The stones have proven too powerful for a mere mortal to control, but there are several examples in the comics showing our favorite characters using the gauntlet without issue, and Tony Stark is one of them.
• Pure armor: Look, Tony managed to put up a good fight against Thanos with his Mark 50 despite the huge difference. So why not build on that? The Endgame trailer shows Tony on the brink of death, but let’s not forget he built his first armor in a cave, using scrap metal and surrounded by terrorists. Moreover, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to double down and create Mark 50 equivalents for every single member of the Avengers team. That definitely sounds like something within Stark’s reach.
• Asgardian technology: Tony Stark’s skill combined with Eitri’s forge in Nidavellir. Weapons and armor made of Uru metal and Stark Industries nanotechnology. Stormbreaker almost split Thanos in half, though we can’t deny Thor’s power... and the idea (!) that Eitri subtly sabotaged the gauntlet. Something similar happened in the comic “Fear Itself”, when Tony Stark and Odin shared resources in developing weapons to face Cul Borson and his soldiers. Will we see this in Endgame?
• Time travel: With the help of the Time Stone, Doctor Strange knew that only a precise combination of events among millions of possibilities leads to Thanos’s defeat. The future looks dark, but what about the past? With a little trip, the Avengers could access tools that have already disappeared (whether due to Thanos’s actions or other elements), and there is speculation about seeing Tony Stark and his father Howard joining forces. Personally, I think this would be the weakest route, but we leave the door open.

As an alternative to all this... I want Hulk to have a rematch. There’s unfinished business between the green guy and the Mad Titan, and it’s time they settled it.
