FreeSynd is an open-source version of the original game created by Bullfrog. A multiplatform version (available for Windows and Linux) that can be played by downloading a file of a few megabytes and without needing any installation. For those who aren't dinosaurs and haven't been able to play this gem in 1993, let us explain what it was about: In a futuristic world where multinational corporations were richer than the smallest countries, your goal was to create a syndicate and carry out assassination missions, persuading civilians, rescuing allies, and that kind of thing.
You always controlled four cyborg soldiers, which you used to carry out the objectives. But it wasn't only the strategic action that was addictive; you also had to research new types of technology to improve the weapons and mechanical limbs that your soldiers used. That allowed you to unlock new abilities. Additionally, each individual was highly customizable, with individual names and inventories, so you could give each one a particular style. As a special note, it also gave the possibility of using vehicles in an open world (very limited), something very uncommon at the time.
