Friday the 13th The Game

During the PAX West 2016 festival, several trailers of many interesting games were presented, such as the return of Duke Nukem 3D to consoles and PC. Another one shown was Friday the 13th: The Game, based on the popular slasher movie franchise from the 80s. This time the video shown is a small selection of deaths designed by legendary special effects artist Tom Savini (who had already worked on the Friday the 13th movies). Below you will see what awaits the teenagers who dare to mess with the killer Jason Voorhees:

Gameplay

The gameplay of Friday the 13th: The Game is based on multiplayer survival horror. Eight players enter the game, one of whom controls Jason. The other seven players will be the counselors whose objective is to survive the night by escaping from the hockey-mask killer, who can be defeated if you work as a team and plan a group attack. The match ends when all players are killed by Jason or when they manage to defeat him first. It's a semi-open world game, where players will be able to explore the settings more deeply in search of items that can help them survive.

Jason and the Developers

The player who controls Jason will have a notable improvement in hearing and vision, being able to teleport (when no one sees him) anywhere in the scenario to stalk his prey. A detail that fans of the franchise will appreciate is that Kane Hodder, the actor who played Jason in four movies, returns to play the killer through motion capture and stunt coordination. Friday the 13th: The Game is being developed by Gun Media together with Illfonicy and will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows. The game does not have a concrete release date but is expected to be released in October 2016.
