Afraid that their favorite characters will be 'the next ones'. The eighth season is already among us, and only four episodes separate us from the end. Who will die in Game of Thrones
A project created by students of the Technical University of Munich aims to feed an algorithm with details from the last seven seasons and from the Game of Thrones books, in an attempt to predict who will die. Both wikis (of the series and the texts) serve as essential sources, and in the first model they applied Bayesian inference, while in the second they trained a neural network. Age, gender, and social status are some of the processed factors, and they can yield very similar results, or extremely conflicting ones. For example: the algorithm believes Bronn is doomed, with a 94 percent chance of dying in the series, and a 98 percent chance in the books. On the other hand, Sansa carries a 73 percent chance in the series, but doesn't exceed 1 percent in the novels.
On the other side of the street we have Daenerys, Tyrion, Varys, Samwell Tarly, and Jaime Lannister as the main survivors, all below 5 percent. The site has a section dedicated to spoilers, where you can see the characters who have already died this season, and the percentage calculated by the algorithm.
