How to play Ratillery

To play Ratillery online, wait for the game to prepare, then press Play to start the 2016 MS-DOS edition in your browser. Take on the computer or play a turn-based duel with another person: two rats throw fireballs from stacks of warehouse crates.

Hit the opposing rat before it hits yours. The first player to reach the chosen target—anywhere from 1 to 99 hits—wins. Crates block shots, but you can destroy them; after each hit, the rats and crates shift to randomized positions. Optional twists include three air-resistance settings, a suspended crate, and shots that can travel above the screen.

Artillery for early PCs

Raphael Assenat wrote Ratillery in 8086 assembly for early PCs and released the DOS edition in 2016. He began the project after finding that Gorillas.bas would not run in the 256 KB of his Tandy 1000 EX. This edition includes CGA and Tandy builds as well as a PC-booter image; features added in later versions belong to the expanded releases, not this original DOS edition.
