Geeknetic reported on November 4, 2026, that ASUS had confirmed the ROG XG Station 3 works with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 BTF. ASUS’s product page lists support for the RTX 50 series and BTF graphics cards, along with RTX PRO 6000, AMD Radeon RX 9000 and Intel Arc cards. ASUS’s specifications also identify the host ports, card-clearance limit and power-supply format to check.
Check the laptop port and GPU clearance
ASUS says the dock works with laptops equipped with Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5. The up-to-80-Gbps bandwidth figure applies to Thunderbolt 5; it is not a stated Thunderbolt 4 speed.
The graphics card must fit within ASUS’s maximum supported dimensions of 361 × 139.3 × 93.9 mm (length × width × height). Those measurements describe the card’s allowed envelope, not the outside dimensions of the dock.
BTF handles card power, not dock power
BTF, short for Back-to-the-Future, cards compatible with the dock’s integrated GC-HPWR slot can draw power through that connection instead of using a conventional external GPU power cable. Other compatible graphics cards need their appropriate power cable.
The dock still requires a separate SFX or SFX-L power supply, which ASUS says should be sized for the installed graphics card.
