Google began rolling out optional review controls for Gemini Notebook Slide Decks and Video Overviews on October 16, 2026. Google said the controls could take up to 15 days to appear. The review step lets you inspect a plan and give feedback before generation, or skip review and generate immediately.
Review the plan before generation
Gemini Notebook suggests focus topics, formats, and visual styles based on a notebook’s sources. You can also steer the result with instructions in your prompt. With review enabled, you can inspect a Slide Deck outline or Video Overview producer notes and submit written feedback before the final version is generated. Google’s review controls for Gemini Notebook slides and videos add a checkpoint before that final step.
Review is optional: Google says users can generate an artifact immediately without it. The controls are part of the gradual rollout that began October 16.
Slide Deck requirements and downloads
Google Help says you must be over 18 and have edit access to a notebook to create or delete a Slide Deck. Google lists PDF and PowerPoint (.pptx) as download formats for a finished deck.
Revisions need a source check
Google warns that generated Slide Decks may contain factual or visual inaccuracies. It also says notebook sources are not considered during slide revisions, which can change text, layouts, and visuals. Check revised claims against the notebook sources before using the deck.
