GFIE Pro is a powerful program for creating icons, but it's more than just an icon editor, because with it you can create mouse cursors, animate statistics, and edit images, among other features.
The complex and organized editing is possible thanks to the environment's compatibility with graphic layers.
Getting Started with GFIE Pro
Once you download the program from its official website, you'll see its simple interface dominated by the work area. On the left you'll find the tools, and on the right the color palette, among other functions.
The utility includes the tools of rectangle, lasso, magic wand, pencil, brush, fill, gradient fill, and selection, among other functions.
As with the vast majority of icon creation and editing platforms, you'll see the work area divided into a grid, which divides the image (usually 64 x 64 pixels) into pixels so you can work in a personalized way on the icon.
Effects and Limitations
The environment is not so powerful in the insertion of effects, because the available effects are very basic, although with a bit of ingenuity and knowledge you can get the most out of it.
Download and Security
GFIE Pro is a free program available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems. In our tests we have not detected viruses in both the installable and portable versions, but we recommend disabling the Download with Secured Download manager option, because Chrome and Firefox detect the redirect as a malicious page. (Disabling this option means no redirect and the file downloads directly).
