Goodgame Big Farm

Goodgame Studios, the most popular developer of browser and mobile games, including the classic Goodgame Empire and the recent Shadow Kings - Dark Ages, is preparing a new update for one of its most played titles. If you're not familiar with it, this free-to-play online farm simulator puts you in charge of your own farm, focusing on producing and selling the goods you generate. You'll dedicate yourself to farming tasks like growing vegetables and raising livestock to expand your operation.

The horse tournament

Starting January 28, Goodgame Studios has prepared a series of changes to the horse ranch, and we'll detail them for you. As in any online game, challenging other players is common practice, and now you can compete in a horse tournament against your friends, so get your fastest steed ready. During the season you can choose among three rivals at your same level, the discipline you'd like to compete in, and the horse you want to send.

If you challenge your opponents and win the challenge, your prize will be competition horseshoes and ranking points. If you lose, you'll only earn the horseshoes. Challenging your opponents will cost gasoline in your trailer to make the trip to the scheduled location. You start with one hundred gasoline points, and each trip costs twelve points. But don't worry, because every hour ten points are recharged, which can be increased with boosters. There are three ways to boost your gasoline, which we'll explain below.

Gasoline management

The first is buying gasoline. You can make three purchases per day and per booster type. The second is increasing the capacity of your tank up to three hundred points. The effect lasts until the end of the season. The third is increasing the gasoline regeneration rate. The effect lasts twenty-four hours, and you can do it until the season ends. It's worth noting that tank extensions can only be obtained with gold coins, while boosters (buying gasoline and regeneration rate) are available for dollars and gold.

Participating in the tournament

To start the horse tournament, just challenge a player or have a player challenge you. You won't be able to accept or reject the challenge; it begins automatically. If you win, in addition to the reward, you'll be able to see your opponent's level (strength, endurance, and agility). If you lose, you'll also see their level, but depending on your league you might lose ranking points. The news board will keep you updated on your victories, challenges, prizes, and reports about other players.

Leagues and divisions

The horse tournament in Goodgame Big Farm is composed of different leagues in which you can compete according to your experience level. There are five leagues in total: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. Each league is divided into divisions and has a specific bonus. All players start in the Bronze League, gaining points to climb and reach the Diamond League. There are five divisions: I, II, III, IV, and V, with I being the highest. Ascending to a division rewards you with a prize, but if you lose you won't lose the reward, although you won't earn it again by re-entering the same division.

You'll earn ranking points as you challenge other players and win, but if you win when challenged you won't earn those points. Another thing to keep in mind: if you challenge a player and lose, there's no penalty, but if you're challenged and lose, you'll be penalized. The ranking points you lose vary depending on your league. For example, in the Bronze League you don't lose points.

The best part will be the rewards you earn, such as competition horseshoes, which you can use to improve buildings or buy new horses. They increase in number as you ascend leagues. All rewards can be seen in the menu of each league. Also, keep in mind that each season lasts between six and twelve weeks. At the end of a season, your horses will need a rest, during which you can't challenge or be challenged. However, you can still challenge George, Lester, and Tessa.

Other changes include the training fields of the ranch, which can now be improved up to level ten. The horse ranch will also provide more information in the 'breed' menu, and Barnacle's ship will have a new loading option to send more tropical fruits or berries.
