Google announced on October 19, 2026, that Gemini Notebook would add an optional review step for creating Slide Decks and Video Overviews. Users can shape the proposed content and style, review notes before generation, or skip that step for a faster path.

From notebook sources to a draft

When users request a Slide Deck or Video Overview, Gemini Notebook suggests topics based on the notebook’s sources. After confirming the topics, they can steer the content, visual style, and format before the output is generated.

Review the plan or skip ahead

In the Studio panel, users can turn on Review to inspect “Review outline notes” for slides or “Review producer notes” for video. They can then provide feedback, such as adding an executive summary at the start of a deck or changing the order of a video scene. Selecting “Proceed” starts production of the final output.

Users who specify the output they want in their prompt can go directly to the review flow. Those who prefer speed can skip Review and generate from the Studio panel as before.

Google’s rollout plan

Google said on October 19 that the controls would roll out globally to all Gemini Notebook users over the following week.
