Google's experimental Gemini feature Call for Me was reported to begin a limited US preview on September 24, 2026. It is designed to place routine calls to businesses for eligible Pixel 11 users, with a live transcript they can follow and the option to take over.
What Call for Me is designed to do
Call for Me is reported to let Gemini contact businesses for everyday tasks: checking whether an item is in stock, asking for a quote, making a reservation, rescheduling an appointment or asking a business to hold an item. Gemini uses the user's phone number and identifies itself on the call as an AI assistant acting on the user's behalf.
How a Call for Me conversation works
Gemini is reported to navigate automated phone menus and wait on hold. Users can follow the live transcript while the call is underway and take over the conversation themselves. That leaves the user in the loop, rather than handing the entire interaction off without a way to step in.
Who can use the preview, and what calls are restricted
Google's eligibility terms specify that users must be at least 18, be in the US and use a Pixel 11 with a US SIM. The preview was also reported to require a paid Gemini plan and enrollment in the Phone by Google public beta.
Calls are reported to be limited to US phone numbers and English. A daily call limit applies. The feature is not intended for emergency calls, verbal payments, telemarketing or sharing sensitive information such as payment-card numbers, Social Security numbers or health information.
