Created by the independent studio Free Lives, Gorn is a virtual reality gladiator simulator where players fight for their lives in a combat arena. As expected from a gladiator game, there are several weapons to use to achieve victory.
Gorn is a virtual reality gladiator simulator ridiculously violent. With a unique, fully physics-driven combat engine, fighters in this simulator can creatively execute their most violent gladiator fantasies in virtual reality. Brutally finish off an endless number of crudely animated opponents with various weapons: from swords, maces and bows to nunchucks, throwable knives and two-handed hammers, or even your own bloody hands. The only limits in this carnage are your imagination and decency, in the most brutal and savage virtual reality game.
The creator of this simulator is Free Lives, developer of Broforce and Genital Jousting, who claim that Gorn is currently the best melee combat game available for HTC Vive, and it is already capable of providing hours of entertainment in its current state. "So far, much of the content and features added to the game since the first public demo have been guided by community requests, and this will remain our focus in the future", says Free Lives on Steam. The indie studio partnered with publisher Devolver Digital, who already have experience in virtual reality with titles like Serious Sam VR: The Last Hope and ♯SelfieTennis.
"The VR division of Devolver Digital spent more than half a million dollars researching what consumers wanted in a next-generation virtual reality experience, and the results were unanimous – they want to rip off someone's arm and then beat that someone to death with it", said Fork Parker, Chief Financial Officer of Devolver Digital. Gorn is being developed by Free Lives and will be available on HTC Vive starting July 10, 2017 via Steam Early Access.
