As usual, a flood of trailers hit the Super Bowl halftime for the audience's delight. One of them is the new and fun trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that shows the team in an entertaining space adventure.
The Guardians had their moment in the final of the American football championship, known as the Super Bowl in the US, and dazzled the audience with a new trailer for their next space adventure. The story of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes place two months after the events seen in the first film; now the Guardians travel across the cosmos and fight to keep their new family together, while helping Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) discover more about his true parentage.
The original Guardians team is still intact with Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Baby Groot, but now familiar faces join along with a new member in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Yondu, the blue-skinned pirate and leader of the Ravagers (also a paternal figure to Quill) joins the team. Nebula, Thanos's adoptive daughter raised with Gamora as sisters, is now also a member. Given the role Nebula played in the previous film, we don't know if her presence will benefit or harm the team.
On the other hand, Mantis is a new character with empathic powers thanks to Ego. Mantis has never really experienced social interaction and will have to learn about dealing with people and the social complexities of the other Guardians, which will surely guarantee many funny situations throughout the plot. This film features a cast led by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff. Produced by Marvel Studios and directed by James Gunn (Slither, Super), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released in 2D, 3D, RealD 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on May 5, 2017.
