The web is filled with portals that let us access the latest chapters of the most popular manga without downloading additional software or creating accounts, but when it comes to downloading manga for free, the landscape has changed, and a lot. That's where HakuNeko comes in, a hybrid between index and crawler that reduces the download process to a couple of clicks.
A traditional format (perhaps too much so), ridiculous costs, poorly served customers, fan groups that translate and redistribute content, inevitable conflicts... it's not simple.

How to Download Manga for Free with HakuNeko
The HakuNeko interface is not the most intuitive in the world, but it's enough to download manga without too many surprises. First, you need to click on the Manga List section and search for a site to serve as a source. This is both a strength and a weakness, since some portals work very well, and others can stop working when you least expect it. The tags system will allow you to prioritize certain types of content, such as Spanish translations, or the so-called raw, without alterations.
The second field is for searching manga by name. Depending on the site, you'll get better results with the original expression (say, Kimetsu no Yaiba), and in others with the Western title (Demon Slayer). Finally, when the chapter list loads completely, the last step is to press the download button, which appears to the right of Chapter List.
The last update of HakuNeko was published in January of this year, but we haven't detected any quirks in its operation, beyond some isolated sites that don't seem to load at all. Furthermore, the project is open source, good news in case a nuclear missile wipes it off the map. The rest is up to you.
