Some constructions are truly wonderful. Over the decades they became striking examples of large-scale projects and, of course, tourist attractions. But they all had a beginning, and thanks to the magic of photography, it has been documented. From the Eiffel Tower to the Golden Gate bridge, including the Statue of Liberty and the Sydney Opera House, all these titans are still there, and today you will know them from a different point in time.
They have often been questioned as “a waste of time, space and money”, but after analyzing the income associated with tourism or their practical functions, the vast majority of these constructions paid for themselves. There is also the “identity factor”. Paris would not be the same without the Eiffel Tower. New York would change forever without the Statue of Liberty. Think of a building or monument... and imagine it not being there. Our predecessors decided to build these wonders, and today it is a privilege to enjoy them.
