Remodeling a space can be as simple as moving furniture around, or turn into a real nightmare of endless frustrations. But none of that will happen without prior ideas, and that's when HomeGPT comes in. This site offers us the chance to leave the heavy lifting to artificial intelligence and explore different styles from a simple image, or alternatively, describe what we want using natural language.
Can an algorithm design a house or remodel a room? I imagine the experts are already preparing torches and pitchforks to express their rejection… but no one denies that things have changed a lot in the last six months. After all, image generation is one of the strongest points of artificial intelligence, and if it can already fool the public with images of the Pope wearing Balenciaga, designing a room doesn't feel like a very complex goal.
Design houses and rooms purely by algorithm with HomeGPT
If you want to find out for yourself, all you have to do is go to the HomeGPT portal. There are two categories available: Design the house of your dreams, or the room of your dreams. The only thing that changes in both sections is the number of options available. For example, Dream Home has dozens of styles and architects to guide the algorithm, while in Dream Room we must choose style/designer, and the exact type of room.
If that's not enough, by activating the switch you can access a dialog box and tell HomeGPT what you want in your own words. As with other artificial intelligence platforms, the description must be in English, or otherwise, its results will be very poor.
The last step to use HomeGPT is always the same: upload a reference image. This is nothing more than an Img2Img process, combining the image and all secondary parameters to form a prompt. HomeGPT delivers a maximum of three images per generation, but there don't seem to be limits at the moment, and it is completely free. I recommend making good use of HomeGPT until the situation changes…
