Editorial report
Hotwav Note 12 8 GB / 128 GB / Global technical sheet
The Hotwav Note 12 suits buyers who prioritize a large battery and a display with high pixel density, and can accept a heavy, thick phone. Its 6,180 mAh battery is among the largest by capacity for phones of its time, while 18 W fast charging is typical. It has no wireless charging.
The 6.8-inch display has a density of 409 ppi, higher than that of most phones launched around the same time. Its 450-nit peak brightness is lower than that of most, however, and the screen-to-body ratio of 70% is among the weakest. At 337 g and 17 mm thick, the phone is also among the heaviest and thickest of its time. Overall, its design and display are among the weakest.
Performance is typical: the Unisoc Tiger T606 is paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of expandable storage. The camera's 48 MP resolution is lower than that of most phones of its time, although the camera overall is typical. Connectivity is typical as well, with NFC, Bluetooth 5.2 and Dual Nano-SIM. Android 13 completes a configuration aimed at buyers who value battery capacity and expandable storage more than a slim, light body or brighter screen. NeoScore: 4.8.
